Our games didn't go well yesterday. We hoped to fix our broken components, more or less succeeded. However, our robots did not work optimally.
Match 1
When we got to the game we started calibrating as always. Unfortunately we had less time for this than we thought, and we weren't completely ready. Unfortunately for us, our first game against one of the best teams Bodensee Adler was the German team. Of course we lost. Now we got a break between the second game.
Match 2
Yesterday we realized that the compass on one of our robots had broken. This component ensures that the robot knows its orientation on the field. This prevented our robot from performing well at all. The Australian team was kind enough to lend us a new compass. So between the two games we tried to solder the component. Unfortunately this also did not work. And again we played against a very good team Shinobi from Japan. We lost. Still, we were not very low because we won twice yesterday.
Super team
Super team is a match where three different teams play together against another super team. Unfortunately, we were in a team with non-working robots and we played against a team with only very well-functioning robots. So we lost. There was a second super team match. This went much better. We were on a team with not a very good robot, but at least it worked. And we played against opponents who are at a similar level. We won this match.
After all the matches, RoboCup had organized some kind of party. It took place in a large hall filled with tables for eating. There was a buffet with rice and other Thai dishes. There were even waiters ready to refill your drink as soon as it was empty. The best part was of course the live music they had. The music wasn't perfect but it was a super fun atmosphere with all kinds of people dancing and singing. It was a nice end to the day. But of course we immediately went back to working on the robot as soon as we got back to the apartment.
